Modesty Screen?

 Ziggy has the normal panoply of blinds, fly screens and even curtains around the driving cab, but there is nothing over the Habitation door window….

This window, of course does face towards the shower / loo - and SWMBO differs from me in that I don’t mind appearing Tackle Out, but she likes to maintain her modesty when appearing Au Natural…

So, after our last trip away I decided to have a close look and to see if I could construct a solution.

I sought advice from the normal places - one person had a black out cover held in place with poppers, another had use sticky hooks that a towel could be hung off - all credible ideas, but…. Didn’t feel right for what I had in my mind’s eye.

It was also an interesting challenge as, it typical Laika fashion, no space had been wasted and there was not much in the way of frame to play with.

Way back when I bought my first house, and could not afford expensive blinds - I didn’t bother with them as I don’t mind doing the bollock naked window dance, but assorted young lady’s objected so - I bought some very cheap bamboo roller blinds - that were a doddle to fit as they needed two screws to suspend off.

£8 spent at home base, I returned to measure up the gap in the window.
I worked out that I needed to take 7.5 cm off each end - but I wanted to make the cut as straight as possible.
Therefore I used insulating tape, wrapped tightly, around the blind and measured the cut distance

Next up, I measured and marked the point for where I was going to suspend the blind from.
As this was in polished aluminium, I marked initially with pen, then I used a hammer and wood screw as a punch so the drill bit would bite and not slip.

Rather than using screws to suspend the blind off, I used some cup hooks - plastic coated to reduce vibration rattle - as that would give me the option to remove the blind easily.
I elected to have the blind roll on the inside as there is, as a part of the door, a nice piece of metal that meant the blind would be held in place when the door was closing - once I had the required length, I adjusted the cord stoppers appropriately, and tied up the excess cord;

All in all, a simple and straight forward solution - and not expensive:)
