Oxburgh Hall and Thetford Forest CAMC

Oxburgh Hall is one of our favourite National Trust properties - it’s a Moated Country House, and inside it holds a plethora of treasures

Since our last visit, they have reopened the Priest’s Hole which neither of us had ever seen before - this cleverly hidden safe place was tiny and cramped to say the least

The outside of the hall is stunning and the gardens are worth a visit. This time we did not visit the village church, which does have some incredible adornments - but a brief walk around the entrance was wonderful, even in the rain!

Leaving Oxburgh, it was only a short drive to CAMC Thetford Forest Club site and we arrived around 1400. This site is entered by driving past 7th Armoured Division Memorial- more on this later

The camp site is surrounded by trees - it has only got service points - no showers or toilet block but it’s very peaceful

We had booked for two nights, but left early - I had an appointment with the football on the Sunday - and we became aware the even though the site had had its WiFi upgraded, it was up and down like a bride’s nightie…
But, while we were on site we did get to explore the woodland around us

I also got to try out our new Cadac BBQ and the mounts for the awning legs - very impressed !

All in all - a lovely couple of days :)
